Exciting news!!! I have expanded Citrus and Mint to now sell embroidery patterns in a new shop on Etsy called citrusandmintthreads (HERE). It all started with some major creative block, which led me to take a beginning embroidery class on Creativebug (highly recommend). Then I was hooked! There's something to adding dimension and texture to my illustrations that is so satisfying. Added bonus--I can embroider in the car and not get carsick, AND I can embroider when I have migraines (which unfortunately have been coming more and more frequently). So even when I am sick I can create, something I couldn't do before.
I also decided to make this shop all not for profit. I will be donating 100% of my profit from this store to refugee aid. I will select different refugee aid organizations every so often to spread the wealth. This month I will be donating to one of my favorite humanitarian organizations, Lifting Hands International. Right now they are running a Gather for Goats campaign where they buy goats for refugee families so that they can have a good source of nourishment and possible income. So you get fun embroidery patterns, and refugees get goats. I think it's a good tradeoff :) Find the shop here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/citrusandmintthreads I will be continuing to add more patterns to the shop, especially kid friendly beginning patterns. Let me know what patterns you would like to see in the comments below or email me at citrusandmintdesigns@gmail.com
