      grateful heart + freebie

I once taught a Sunday School lesson on Gratitude and came across a talk by Bonnie Parkin. In it she described how each night before family prayer, her family would list off blessings they received that day and add them to their "blessings basket". I decided to start a similar tradition in our family (it was only my husband and I then) where each Sunday we wrote down 10 blessings we had received that week. Some weeks it was really hard to find 10, and other weeks we had more like 20. It was interesting how our perspective on life changed. Even some bad things that happened turned out to be blessings in our journal because things could have been worse, or so and so helped us, etc. Now 5 years later, we are still keeping it up. I figure that by now we have recorded over 2,600 blessings!!! [. . .]
This is something I encourage everyone to try, whether you are religious or not. It can be anything you want--one thing you're grateful for recorded each day, 4 things recorded every other week--the key is to be consistent.  It helped our family develop gratitude, appreciate our lives, and it's fun to read back over! And of course it gives you great material for journaling on a scrapbook page!

Another wonderful layout by CT Tiffany
I've recently posted a CT call. If you are interested in becoming a clementine (very low key/low commitment) send me an email at citrusandmintdesigns@gmail.com and read more about it HERE.

I also released a new clip art set and papers in the store. I love how they turned out, even if they look a little spring-ish. That's what happens when you move to Florida.
