I asked you last week to look at the world through the lens of lines and contours. Now I want you to look through the lens of shape. What basic shapes make up your computer, your kitchen, your cat? Sometimes drawing something can be daunting when you look at the whole picture. But if you can break it down into simple shapes, with some tweaks, it won't seem as impossible.
I'm calling today's activity drawing gestures with shape. But it really isn't. Gestures are all about expression and capturing emotion and movement and essence. However, we will be doing the same activity that we did with gestures, but now with shapes. Choose someone to be the actor. The actor should strike a pose. The artist(s) draws the person in that pose using only shapes (geometric shapes are easiest). The actor does not need to change positions quickly, hold the pose until the artist is finished, or as long as the actor is able. :) Switch when the other person wants a turn.
